Following the controversy at Ghent-Wevelgem last week when Nico Mattan seemed to benefit from from accidental assistance by press motorbikes, the race commissaire's car and the Shimano neutral service car, Shimano have announced that they have suspended the driver of that car, Paul Debaeremaeker.

War denn der Fahrer des neutralen Materialwagens der Hauptschuldige, hatte er selbst das Kommando? Immerhin turnte da ja noch ein anderes Auto rum. Keine Ahnung, ob das jetzt ranghöher war oder nicht.
Jedenfalls kann ich mir irgendwie nicht vorstellen, dass sich Fahrer der neutralen Materialwagen eigenverantwortlich und ganz ohne Anweisung/Hilfestellung ihre richtige Position suchen müssen. Wie sollen sie denn das alles allein im Blick haben?
Ich bleibe bei Bauernopfer.

Gerade im DailyPeloton Forum gefunden:
"UCI has now suspended the Gent-Wevelgem race director too. His suspension will last from April 1 to April 30. Gent-Wevelgem is raced April 5, 2006."
